Our Location: Traverse City Michigan
Traverse City is located in the northwest corner of Michigan’s lower peninsula. The city itself is absolutely fantastic, nestled among cherry orchards, vineyards, rolling hills and water as far as the eyes can see. Traverse is about a 5-hour drive from Chicago along the west coast of Michigan, about 4 hours from Detroit, and just 3 hours north of Grand Rapids.
Not only is Traverse City a true sportsman’s paradise- it is a wonderful city for a family vacation as well- with more than enough activities for all to enjoy. With ample beaches, the National Cherry Festival in early July, shopping, and lots of wineries and brewpubs to enjoy, there is no shortage of things to see and do. Just to the south lies Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This National Park was voted the most beautiful place in America by Good Morning America’s viewers several years ago. To the north is a beach voted as the best freshwater beach in America. For ice cream lovers, Moomer’s Ice Cream won the top spot as America’s best ice cream, with their Chocolate Cherry ice cream. Even the Travel Channel weighed in on the Traverse City area, naming it number 7 on their list of Top Beer Destinations. With so much to do, it’s a wonder that there’s any time left for fishing!
Where we will meet will depend on several factors including the weather, time of day, and if we are fishing on one of the two Bays, or on an inland lake around the Traverse area. Our fishing trip location and full directions will be discussed prior to the trip.
